18th Council of Karnataka Regional Youth Commission

The 18th council of Karnataka Regional Youth Commission commenced at 10:00 a.m. in the conference hall of KROSS on 13th May 2017. Mr.Vipin Paul, the President of ICYM Karnataka Region welcomed the gathering. The special guests for the council were Rev. Bishop Henry Dsouza, the chairman of CBCI Youth Commission, Fr. Deepak KJ Thomas, the National Youth Director of ICYM and Mr. Sijo Ambatt, the National Youth President of ICYM. Fr. Mari Joseph the Regional Youth director explained the agenda of the council and also introduced the newly appointed DYDs and DYLAs of the region. Fr. Prem Dsouza from Bellary diocese, Fr. Clivan Gomes from Gulbarga diocese, Sr. Olivia from Gulbarga diocese and Sr. Steffi from Bangalore diocese were introduced. Total of thirty five members from ICYM and Abide were present for the council.

Mr. Vipin Paul presided over the evaluation of National Youth Convention in which Ms. Fayal Dsouza the PRO read the report of evaluation meeting of the National Youth Convention held at Mangalore. After the report the floor was open for discussion on NYC. Fr Mari presented a brief financial report of the NYC. The income received in the form of cross journey and various other donations was presented.

The council resumed after the lunch at 2.30pm as per the schedule. The agenda for the meeting were; pastoral plan, elections of the diocesan and regional office bearers, and the next regional council. Mr Vipin presided over the council and asked the Fr Anil Dsa to explain about the pastoral plan.

The President asked the council for a tentative date and place for next council in which pastoral plan has to be prepared. It was suggested to host it on third week of August in Bhadravathi. Mr Abhilash representing the Bhadravathi said that it could be fixed after confirming with the director. Ms.Fayal and Mr.Abhilash had compeered the programme.
