Inner Healing Retreat 2026: From Brokenness to Wholeness in Christ

The Karnataka Regional Youth Commission organized a three-day Inner Healing Retreat for young people from across Karnataka from August 21 to 23, 2026, at Satyanikethan Catholic Centre in the Diocese of Mysuru. The retreat was envisioned as a sacred space where young people could pause amidst the challenges and pressures of life, encounter God personally, experience His healing love, and rediscover hope and purpose.

The retreat brought together around 60 young people from all 14 dioceses of Karnataka and the Various youth movements like Jesus Youth, AICUF, YU4C, YCS and ICYM . Through prayer, praise and worship, Adoration, reflections, Eucharistic celebration and moments of silence, participants were invited to look within, acknowledge their wounds and struggles, and open their hearts to God's transforming grace.

The retreat was animated by Fr. Maria Xavier, DYD of Mysuru Diocese; Fr. Praveen Kumar, Parish Priest of Rajendra Swamy Shrine, Maddur, Mysuru; Br. Victor; Br. Cherian Ramapuram; Sr. Manjula Joy; Br. Gregory; and Br. Joy Antony. The sessions focused on topics such as Who Am I?, the role of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit in one's life, and pro- life values. Through their prayerful preaching and accompaniment, they helped the young people experience God's unconditional love, the power of forgiveness, healing, and the possibility of a new beginning.

On behalf of the Karnataka Region, a special note of gratitude was expressed to Fr. Maria Xavier for taking the initiative and showing keen interest in making all the necessary arrangements for the retreat. Special thanks were also extended to Most Rev. Dr. Henry D'Souza, Chairman of KRYC, for his constant support and encouragement in youth ministry.
The Regional Youth Commission further expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Regional Director of the Youth Commission, and Sr Lenita AC, the lady animator for the region for his leadership and support in organizing the retreat. Gratitude was also extended to Ms Sheryl, KRYC Coordinator, along with the KRYC team and volunteers whose dedicated service contributed to the success of the retreat.

Many participants expressed that the retreat became a personal journey from brokenness to healing, from fear to courage, and from discouragement to hope. The spiritual climax came with a profound experience of the infilling of the Holy Spirit, as participants were invited to surrender themselves more deeply to God's presence and experience His transforming power.

The retreat concluded with renewed faith, gratitude, and hope. Participants were encouraged to return to their families, parishes, and dioceses as renewed witnesses of God's love and as instruments of healing and hope.

The Karnataka Regional Youth Commission continues to accompany young people in their journey of faith and remains committed to creating meaningful spaces where they can encounter Christ, experience healing, discover their purpose, and become courageous agents of hope in today's world.
