“Corridors of Power: Inspiring YCS/YSM Young Leaders at Vidhana Soudha”

March 24, 2026 : Under the banner of KRYC’s YES Prathibhodaya, a half-day session was organized at Vidhana Soudha to inspire young leaders of YCS/YSM Karnataka to aspire to the Civil Services.

The team had the privilege of interacting with distinguished officials, including Mr. Arun Furtado, Deputy Secretary – Administration to the Chief Minister of Karnataka; Mr. Sachin Lawrence, Deputy Marshal, Vidhana Sabha (Assistant Commissioner of Police); and Mr. Clifford Lobo, Range Forest Officer and Assistant Director, Department of Tourism, Udupi. These interactions offered valuable insights into the functioning of the Civil Services, as well as the significance of serving in government roles. The participants actively engaged in meaningful dialogue, raising thoughtful questions and sharing their perspectives on the role of youth in governance.

A highlight of the visit was the inspiring address delivered by Mr. Arun Furtado. He encouraged the young leaders to consider careers in the Civil Services, emphasizing that clarity of purpose, dedication, and perseverance are key to overcoming challenges. His words broadened the vision of the participants and motivated them to contribute meaningfully to society through public service. The team was also privileged to observe a live session of the Legislative Assembly. This firsthand experience deepened their appreciation of the democratic process, parliamentary procedures, and the complexities involved in policy-making. It was truly an enriching opportunity to witness governance in action.

The visit to Vidhana Soudha proved to be a deeply enriching and transformative experience. It successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of governance. The participants returned with a renewed sense of civic responsibility, a strengthened leadership vision, and a commitment to strive for excellence in their respective fields.
